Welcome! The Heritage Room of the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh
The telling of “our story” in our Heritage Room represents the talents, the giftedness and the generosity of many people.
The Heritage Committee from the very beginning felt the Presence of God as the planning unfolded. Each day a new person, a new idea, a new friend appeared --- and --- as we said so often --- “things just fell into place.”
But --- we know --- the Providence of God brought us to the completion of this special place, just as the Providence of God directed the work of the four women who came from Ratisbon, Germany. Their courage, trust, faith and endurance are celebrated 125 years later in the lives of the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh.
Our words of gratitude can never repay our generous friends and benefactors for their personal support and encouragement toward this endeavor. “Our story” is “your story” too, for we are companions on the journey.
The Dominican Sisters of Newburgh tell “their story” in this Heritage Room with great pride, humility, and gratitude. The graces and blessings of God abound in our Lives.
Those who have journey with us have a special place in our hearts and prayers. With the Psalmist we pray:
“this I believe: I shall see the
Goodness of Yahweh in the land of the
living. Put your hope in Yahweh, be
strong, let your heart be bold; put your
hope in Yahweh.”
